How it works

Allows you to insert tickmarks into your current working paper.

How to use them:

Step 1

Select the cell you want to insert a tick-mark into.

Note: This could also be a range of cells.

Step 2

Click on the desired tick-mark, and it will be inserted into your Workbook.

Step 3

The selected tickmark will be pushed into selected cell.

Note: When using embedded tickmarks, the legend will be auto-populated at the end of the workbook, but not for image tickmarks. Skip to step 6 to see how to change this.

Step 4

To add a tickmark legend, select the cell where the legend is to be added, then in the Ticking and Bashing group, navigate to Tickmark Legend then click create.

If you have already created the tickmark legend, simply click on refresh to get the new tickmarks added to the legend.

Note: This function is only available for Image tickmarks as the legend will be automated with embedded tickmarks. 

Note: Ensure that there is enough space for the tickmark legend before creating it as it will overwrite information in its place.

Step 5

The tickmarks legend will be populated where you have selected it.

Step 6

To update the type of tickmark being used, in the Help and Support group, click on Manage tickmarks then navigate to tickmark type. Select the type to be used. 

Position In Cell

You can change the position of your tick-mark to the right-hand border by changing the dropdown that is set to ‘In-cell’ by default to ‘right’.
